Cat runners12/5/2023 ![]() The female winner was Melissa Henry of Brookline with a time of 1:06:54. The 10-mile race winner among the men was Roger Donaghy of South Boston with a time of 53:35. About a month before the event we were already over 500 runners! We couldn’t have been more pleased with the turnout for year one and can only hope these numbers continue to grow in years to come.” It being a first race, early March, we knew a lot would have to do with the weather, we expected anywhere between 350 and 500. “In designing this race we really had no idea what kind of audience, nor what the size of the field would be. “Our first thought in creating this event was to target all the Boston hopefuls and provide them with a great training race that for most would fit perfectly in their training plan with the marathon a little over a month away,” said Brandi Dion of B&S Fitness Programs. ![]() There were 750 runners registered, with 615 runners crossing the finish line - 388 of whom ran 10 miles and the remaining 227 running 20. The first Black Cat 10 & 20 Miler and Relay was held on March 6, bringing runners on a course throughout the greater Memorial Drive area in Salem.
